I’ve gone before in the summer but today was the first time I explored Guindon Park in Cornwall, Ontario<\/a> by snowshoe. I planned to get up and go first thing in the morning. So, of course, I arrived at the park around 1PM, LOL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was overcast but overall it was a nice day to be out there. There was a nice, fresh layer of snow from the day before. It was around -3C and no wind chill. There were other people there, chatted with a few but it wasn’t super busy and especially quiet off the main trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I managed to get close enough for a good picture of a woodpecker. Later, in a particular part of the woods there was a murder of crows milling about in the tree tops and making quite the commotion, not sure what was up. I also picked up somebodies garbage (no judgment, sometimes stuff falls out of pockets).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At one point I came to an intersection on the main trail and there was a map with a note showing “you are here”. Based on that I decided to head down another section to the west, on the south side of the main trail. That trail hadn’t been used since the snowfall the day before so I was happy to be the one to break it back in. All was going fine, following the pink trail markers but then suddenly I lost the trail at a fork. I looked around a bit, went down one fork and it was quickly a dead end. Went down the next and I did come across the odd, old, orange ribbon and an old, paper sign that said “Fat Bikes” but then I was in a bit of a clearing and wasn’t sure where to go. So, I decided that was enough for the day, back tracked to the main trail and continued to the parking lot in the east. On the way back I had a banana for a snack \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why not pick up some garbage if you see it in the park, especially if it’s just a snack bar wrapper.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
